The Paris Convention and Visitors Bureau, a non-profit-making association, has been set up in 1971 as a joint initiative by the Paris City Council and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The Bureau has 2,200 members including 470 members of the Paris Convention Bureau. They are all tourism professionals, caterers, hotels, restaurants, venues…
Its main missions, for business and leisure tourism, are :
- welcome and inform visitors and tourism professionals, and
- promote the assets of Paris in France and abroad.
